About the artist:
Donna Johansen, CID is an artist and interior designer, certified by state of California.
I first learned about the importance of art in a healing environment in 1995 while participating in the Symposium for Healthcare Design led by Wayne Ruga, Phd.
The deepest realization of how art can transform your experience of life was introduced to me by Earl Bakken as he gave us a private tour of North Hawaii Community Hospital just prior to it’s opening. Earl is a visionary of healing environments and shared many key attributes used in the development of the hospital.
My passion for creating artwork with healing attributes started on this tour and has continued for over 20 years.
